Future of Forestry are one of the most inovative bands around. With their oddball collection of instruments and sounds they are truely insprirational. Speaking from a musician's point of view, they have inspired me to be more open to non-traditional ways of creating music and sounds.
The band hail from California USA and are fronted by lead singer and songwriter Eric Owyoung. The band that started out called 'Something Like Silas' became 'Future of Forestry' in 2006, the name coming from a poem by C.S.Lewis called......yes 'The Future of Forestry'.
The band are really cool and very clever lyrically and of course musically, with each member needing to play at least four or five instruments to survive in the band!
I like the way they are open to show how they create sounds and what gear they use, some of it may surprise you such as pots and pans and cardboard box kick drums!
